Due to the film’s lack of hype, big earnings were never anticipated, yet a decent opening was still expected. Unfortunately, it did not even hit the 2 crore milestone on its opening day, marking the second-lowest debut for Rashmika in the post-COVID period.

Currently, The Girlfriend has grossed approximately 0.91 Cr net in India on its second day across all languages, bringing its total to Rs 2.21 Cr. This is a surprising beginning given Rashmika Mandanna’s recent success with Thamma’s 25.11 crore debut.

With only 1.3 crores earned, The Girlfriend achieved the second-lowest debut for Rashmika in the post-COVID period. It evaded the humiliation of being her smallest opener by remaining above Goodbye (1 crore).
Heading towards a disappointing weekend
With a slow start on the board and mixed initial feedback from the audience, there’s little scope for growth for the romantic drama over the opening weekend. But the start of the weekend has been underwhelming as well. The overall collection is expected to stay on the lower side. The first 3-day collection may remain below 5 crores or go slightly higher.
