After the huge success of The Kashmir Files and The Vaccine War, filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is back with another intense and thought-provoking project, The Bengal Files. Known for his bold, research-driven films, Agnihotri this time focuses on one of the most turbulent and lesser-known parts of Indian history. The film released in theatres on September 5, 2025, and is now set for its digital premiere on ZEE5 from November 21, 2025.

Vivek Agnihotri shared that The Bengal Files is ‘not just a film, but a reminder’ of the forgotten truths and suffering that history has overlooked. He said the story is meant to bring Bengal’s “pain, courage, and truth” to the forefront, and he’s glad ZEE5 will help the film reach a wider audience.
Anupam Kher called the film deeply emotional and said the entire Files trilogy has stayed with him. Reading the script, he said, evoked “an ache that only truth can cause.” He believes the audience will feel the same impact while watching the film on ZEE5.
Pallavi Joshi said the trilogy has been an artistic and emotional journey. With The Bengal Files, the team wanted to bring out a truth that has been ignored for decades. She said every scene is rooted in real emotions and is proud that the film will now reach more people through digital streaming.
