Global superstar Beyonce recently avoided a major mishap during her Houston show after a ‘flying car’ malfunctioned. We get you what exactly happened.
Houston was buzzing with excitement on June 28 after global superstar Beyoncé took to the stage at NRG Stadium for the first of two hometown shows during Cowboy Carter tour. But what started as a dazzling performance turned into a heart-pounding moment when a technical glitch left the famous popstar dangling mid-air in a tilting prop car.
What Did Beyoncé’s Performance Include?
During her performance of song 16 Carriages, a soulful track from her Grammy-winning 2024 album Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé, was seen decked in a white cowboy hat with an American flag by her side and was perched in a red convertible prop suspended high above the crowd. This signature setup, designed to let her connect with fans as she circled the stadium, is a fan-favorite moment.
However, midway through the song the car suddenly tilted sharply to one side, leaving Beyoncé at a relatively dangerous angle. Videos shared by fans on social media captured the terrifying moment, showing the car slanting almost 90 degrees as she gripped a cable for stability.
the way she was saying “Stop Stop Stop” Beyoncé immediately take this off the set list.. no more cars we don’t even play like that this is scary asf #CowboyCarterTourpic.twitter.com/Lt4bModkr6
A Mishap Prevented Beyonce stayed calm and continued to sing through the chorus before firmly calling out, “Stop, stop, stop!” into her microphone. The crowd, already on edge, roared with concern, urging the crew to bring her down safely. Her team shortly sprang into action and halted the music while carefully lowering the car to the stage. Concertgoers even cleared a path, allowing stagehands to guide Beyoncé back to solid ground.
Statements From The Artist “I want to thank y’all for loving me. If ever I fall, I know y’all would catch me,” Beyonce said with a sincere smile once safely back on stage, earning even louder applause. Beyonce’s team at Parkwood Entertainment later addressed the incident on Instagram, calling it a “technical mishap” and confirming that “she was quickly lowered, and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.”
