Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has shown no qualms in extending his support to popular actor Diljit Dosanjh amid the ongoing controversy around his film Sardaar Ji 3. For the unversed, the popular Punjabi singer and actor has been facing massive criticism for sharing the screen space with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. Legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah took to his Facebook handle today to state that he stands firmly with Diljit and further told his fans that the actor wasn’t responsible for the film’s casting, but the director was. Naseeruddin also stressed on the fact that people don’t know who the director is while Diljit is popular globally, and that the latter agreed to the film’s cast because “his mind is not poisoned”.

“The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they’ve got it at last,” Naseeruddin added.
Naseeruddin also mentioned that the “goons” were only interested in ending “personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan”. The veteran actor agreed to the fact that he has close relatives and friends in Pakistan and that nobody can stop him from meeting them or “sending them love whenever I feel like it. And my response to those who will say “Go to Pakistan” is “GO TO KAILASA”.

The controversy around Sardaar Ji 3 grew intense after the trailer of the movie was released and featured Hania Aamir with Diljit. Following the ghastly terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, and deteriorating India-Pakistan relations, Pakistani actors were banned in India. Amid calls for a ban on the film by FWICE, the makers had emphasised the fact that Sardaar Ji 3 had finished its production ahead of the Pahalgam incident.
