Mukesh Sahani, the founder of Vikassheel Insaan Party in Bihar, did not contest for elections himself this time, but he was projected as the deputy chief minister face of the Mahagathbandhan. He also continued to campaign for the Mahagathbandhan and also nominated Santosh, his brother, to contest from the Gaura-Bauram seat in Darbhanga. However, the now politician had entered the complex world of Bihar politics. In fact, the man so integral to the lifeline of Bihar’s political landscape was working in the Bollywood industry not a long while ago. In fact, the politician has worked for the films starring two of the most prominent and beloved actors of B-Town, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
Mukesh Sahani’s early life
Mukesh was born in 1981 in the district of Darbhanga, Bihar. Hailing from a fisherman community, Sahani was endearingly called ‘Son of Mallah.’ At the age of 19, he left the state in order to work in the city of dreams—Mumbai. There he started his career as a salesman; that was until fate brought him to the footsteps of the B-Town.
How did Mukesh Sahani get into Bollywood?
He started working as a set designer in Bollywood. His firm, Mukesh Cine World Private Limited, has worked on multiple big-budget, star-studded films. In fact, he has worked with two of the three Khans, Salman and Shah Rukh. He worked for Devdas, starring SRK, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, starring Salman.
How did Bollywood translate into his political career?
Owing to these films, he got a lot of popularity back home. The proof of this was showcased in 2008, when he organized Chhath celebrations on a very huge scale. As per the IE report, this was what motivated him to work hard for his community and give them back more. With this mindset, he then laid the foundation of his political career by starting Sahani Samaj Kalyan Sanstha in 2010. There, he used to get a lot of people drawn to his meetings, which is eventually what helped him in getting up the ladder of Bihar’s dynamite political landscape to where we know him today.
