Last night saw the arrival of newcomers, Vogue and Tom. The camp appeared slightly put out, admitting they were worried the pair could upset the group’s dynamic.
They were all introduced to Camp Fear, a summer camp-style area set up for the next few days, and three campmates did the Bushtucker Trial. The lucky trio were Kelly Brook, Aitch and Angry Ginge.
Kelly did remarkably well. She had to stand with her head in a glass box of critters while untying four tricky knots. She managed to do all of them and won four stars for camp.
Next up was Aitch, who had to really overcome his fear of spiders! Using his bare hands, he managed to transport two giant toads and two spiders – including a Huntsman – across camp and into a bucket. Not only did he win four stars for camp, he was also awarded a Bravery badge by Chief Explorers, Vogue and Tom.
Unfortunately, Aitch did not to as well – and he was furious. He had to eat four giant fish eyes on skewers to win his four stars. He didn’t manage one, which means the camp ended with eight out of a possible 12.
The good news is, tonight’s show is a longer one. Yippee! Instead of finishing at 10.15pm, the end time is 10.30pm. ITV are celebrating the fact it’s Friday night with an extra 15 minutes of fun.
Tonight’s Bushtucker Trial
Alex, Jack Shona and Martin are taking on the Dreaded Dunnies Bushtucker Trial in Camp Fright tonight. And it really does look gross.
Alex and Jack were picked in the public vote, while it was revealed on spin-off show Unpacked that Vogue and Tom have chosen Shona and Martin to join them.
They will all have to sit in individual dunny cubicles that are swarming with critters. Using their hands, they have to reach into the slime-filled toilet bowl and scoop out keys. The keys can be used to unlock a series of rusty padlocks on the door, which will release them.
None of the four campmates have ever done a Bushtucker Trial before, so this will really test their nerves.
There is good news for them, though. There has been a change to the Bushtucker Trial rules this year, which viewers should be aware of. The ‘two in a row and then you go’ rule has been brought in to ensure the same celebrity isn’t repeatedly voted for consecutive Trials.
Given the glimpse we were given of this trial last night, it’s going to provoke plenty of screaming. But sadly, bemused viewers won’t be able to be able to keep voting for the same three until the cows come home. Gone are the days where one celeb does seven Bushtucker Trials on the trot!
