Film veteran Dharmendra passed away at his Mumbai residence on November 24. The report was confirmed by news agency IANS. The actor died weeks before his 90th birthday, on December 8.
Dharmendra DIES at 89: Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra breathed his last in Mumbai, days after he was shifted to his Mumbai residence where he was undergoing medical treatment. The actor was rushed to Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month after he complained of breathlessness. His last rites were performed at Pawan Hans Crematorium which also saw the presence of his family members and close industry colleagues. Amid reports confirming his death and last rites, Dharmendra’s last video message on his Instagram account has gone viral.

On October 2, veteran actor Dharmendra had put out a special festive message for fans on Dussehra. In the video, Dharmendra was seen sitting on a tractor. The setting too looked very rustic. The actor – in the company of his villagers – smiled and wished his fans good health. “Bhagwan lambi sehat de,” Dharmendra had said in the viral video. As evident from the viral, Dharmendra was seen addressing his fans. He said, “Dussehra ki dher saari shubhkamnaye. Bhagwan aapko lambi sehat de, khushiyaan de.”

Dharmendra’s last Instagram post before his demise was shared on October 29. It featured the trailer of his much-awaited film Ikkis. The film has been directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan. The war drama also features Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda. It marks Dharmendra’s last cinematic appearance.

Dharmendra’s last rites were performed in Mumbai on November 24. Several Bollywood actors including Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Gauri Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan were seen attended his funeral to pay their last respects.
