The famous comedy show, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! is making headlines again. The reports about Shubhangi Atre leaving the show showed up recently. As per the most recent reports, the makers have approached Shilpa Shinde, asking her to replace Shubhangi Atre as Angoori Bhabhi. Shubhangi’s exit has been confirmed from the show by her. Shubhangi, who took up this role in 2016 after Shilpa Shinde’s departure, shared that it is a blessing in disguise for her, as she wants to explore other possible options. She did not specify the reason behind her leaving the show; she did wish Shilpa good luck in reprising her role.
Shubhangi Atre’s departure from the show
Shubhangi revealed to the Bombay Times that she is leaving the show with only appreciation and also revealed that she shot her farewell episode last week. She shared, “I always promised Mrs. Kohli that my journey in the show would start with aan, baan aur shaan, and that is exactly how it would end too. I could not have asked for a better exit. There is no point delving into the reasons for the replacement. I see it as a blessing in disguise because as an artist, I want to explore new characters. The idea is to step out of here and start looking for work again. After seeing so much in life, I am in fighter mode now and focused only on my daughter and my work.”
Shubhangi Atre on replacing Shilpa Shinde
Shubhangi shared how saying goodbye to the show after almost a decade felt pretty traumatic. She shared that it was like leaving her home. She also remembered the time she had replaced Shilpa Shinde, saying, “Replacing someone is never easy. When you create a character from scratch, you shape it through your own personality and experiences. But when you take on a role that already exists, you have to retain the nuances without making it seem like a copy and still build your own connection with the audience. I am grateful that viewers accepted me with so much love. In the end, I am satisfied that I did my work with honesty and dedication.”

Shilpa Shinde got pretty famous for her portrayal of Angoori Bhabhi in the sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!. She was in the news for her controversial exit from the show in March 2016. She made claims of “mental torture” from the producers, sharing that she had to sign an exclusivity clause that did not allow her to appear in other shows. She also claimed that she faced discrimination and was owed money. She was later sent a legal notice by the production business and accused of unprofessional behavior.
