The movie has not succeeded in attracting the audiences to theaters with a total collection of Rs 1.36 crore over the first four days, thus the question about its future performance has been raised. The decrease observed on Monday, specifically, indicates a small number of people coming in and the movie being able to hold very few viewers even after the weekend.

Produced by Stage5 Productions, Gustaakh Ishq also features fashion designer Manish Malhotra as one of the producers. Vibhu Puri and Prashant Jha co-wrote the script, while the renowned Vishal Bhardwaj wrote the soundtrack, which gives the story a poetic touch.
The protagonist of the tale is a young guy, portrayed by Vijay Varma, who is fighting to preserve his father’s dying printing press. Desperate for a solution, he seeks out a recluse poet, represented by the great Naseeruddin Shah, in the hope that the poet’s words would help him turn things around.
As the film examines the complex relationships between love, grief, and creation, Fatima Sana Shaikh, who plays the poet’s daughter, forms the emotional centre of the story.
