Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule – which had released in 2025 – made headlines after the actor was taken into custody by the cops from his residence in Hyderabad. The actor was taken to Chikkadapalli Police Station after a stampede broke out at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. During the stampede, 8-year-old Sritej was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition, and his mother, Revathi, had passed away. Last year, the family was promised Rs 2 crore in ex gratia. However, his father says his financial struggles continue.

Sritej, was barely eight last year when he was severely injured and had to be rushed to the hospital because of his critical condition for months. After being discharged after undergoing 146 days of treatment from KIMS Hospital, he was shifted to a neuro-rehabilitation centre for additional care. As reported by Hindustan Times,
Sritej’s father, Magudampalli Bhaskar, spoke to ABN and mentioned that his son needs Rs 90,000 for treatment monthly. His father Magudampalli Bhaskar too reportedly told Hindustan Times that his son’s medical bill sums up to Rs 1.25 lakh per month.
He further stated that Allu Arjun’s family made Rs 2 crore deposit, but the interest could not cover additional expenses.
What has been Allu Arjun’s team’s reaction so far?
A spokesperson for Allu Arjun had told Hindustan Times that they agree with the statement producer Bunny Vas gave to the press at an event that was held on Thursday. Bunny Vas was asked if there was any truth in reports of Allu Arjun ignoring the plea for assistance. “This is not the stage, please. There are many pedda manushulu (respectable people) in between. Anything that we’re doing, we’re doing it through Dil Raju garu,” he was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
He further mentioned that Sritej’s family can approach ‘pedda manushulu’ involved at any time and that Allu Arjun does not share direct contact with them. “Keeping aside whether we managed to satisfy them or not, we are following particular guidelines. We are determining where the fund should be allocated, including its use for medical purposes and other considerations. We put a system in place. If they are dissatisfied or the money isn’t enough, they can speak to the pedda manushulu. We will correct any issues that need attention. It’s not a direct thing,” the producer added.
