Deepika Padukone breaks barriers, becomes first Indian to be honoured on…
Deepika Padukone becomes the first Indian actress to receive the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026 in the Motion Pictures category, putting India on an international level.
On June 20, the honourees were chosen from hundreds of nominations, and the selection was approved by the Chamber’s board of directors. With many on the list, Deepika Padukone stands tall and is the only Indian to be awarded the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She is now putting India on the global map but also reminding the country of its presence and its influence on an international level.
What did Peter Roth announce?
The live stream was hosted by the former Peter Roth, CEO of Warner Bros, Television and chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee and said, ‘We are excited to announce the newest selections of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined on the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026. These talented individuals have made significant contributions to the world of entertainment, and we are thrilled to honour them with this well-deserved recognition.’
What was Deepika named in 2018?
In 2018, Deepika was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME and was awarded the Time100 Impact Award in 2022. Not only this, she also unveiled the FIFA World Cup trophy at the final match in Qatar in 2022.
Coming to the work front, Deepika Padukone is set to return to the big screen with Shah Rukh Khan’s King, which is expected to release in 2026. However, other details of the film are not yet disclosed. Deepika married Ranveer Singh on November 14, 2018 and has a daughter together.
