Brad Pitt REVEALS why Ford vs Ferrari with Tom Cruise didn’t happen: ‘We both wanted to…’

Brad Pitt is currently enjoying the success of his film F1, which was released last month. The action sports thriller has topped the international box office chart. It has been making massive earnings around the world. Following the magnificent success, speculation about an F1 sequel surfaced on the internet with a possible crossover of Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. Amid the rumours, Brad reveals the reason why he and Tom failed to feature in Ford vs Ferrari as leads. In an earlier interview, F1 director Joseph Kosinski revealed that Ford vs Ferrari film’s initial idea was with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, but due to a packed budget, it failed to happen. Christian Bale and Matt Damon starred in the roles instead.

Why did Ford vs Ferrari with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise not happen?

According to a recent interview with The National, quoted by Variety, Brad Pitt finally opened up about why Ford vs Ferrari didn’t happen with him and Tom. He said that he and Tom were there for a while on Ford v Ferrari. This was about 10 years before the guys who made it.

Brad Pitt said, “What it came down to is that we both wanted to drive, and [Tom] wanted to play Shelby, and I wanted to play Ken Miles. And when Tom realised that Carroll Shelby would not be driving much in the movie, it didn’t come through. So I’m not sure how that’s going to work [in a potential ‘F1’ sequel], but we’ll give it a go. I’d love to.”

F1 going to have a sequel?

Reportedly, Brad Pitt is considering a potential sequel to F1, which has grossed 144 million USD worldwide. According to reports, Apple is currently in talks about the action sports film follow-up.

Brad Pitt said, “I would want to drive again, selfishly speaking. F1 is still the focus. It needs to be on Joshua Pierce – Damson Idris’s character – and the rest of the team fighting for a championship. Where does Sonny fit in? I’m not sure. Sonny’s probably out on the Bonneville Salt Flats, setting speed records or something like that. So I’m not sure beyond that, just yet.”
