Smriti Irani has made her grand comeback and fans are quite excited to watch on the small screens. The actress is all set to win a million of hearts with her role as Tulsi Virani in the second season of her iconic show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The show is being rebooted for JioHotstar and will feature most of the original cast. The first look of Smriti Irani as Tulsi Virani was unveiled and netizens went gaga over the same.
Smriti aka Tulsi’s first look is going viral on social media and the picture is doing rounds online. Netizens have flooded the comment section with reactions as they could not get enough of it. One user wrote, “This gave us so many childhood memories It’s an emotion, a saga that changed the Indian television industry for good.” “Subah ka bhoola shaam ko ghar aa jaye to use bhoola nahi kehte,” another user wrote. The third user commented saying, “Yes, we are excited! Please don’t be judgmental about her.”
A look at Smriti Irani aka Tulsi Virani’s first look
Some fans demanded that the show replace Rupali Ganguly’s Anupamaa. One wrote, “Anupama ko band karo aur iss show ko 10 pm dedo accha hoga,” another wrote, “Replace Anupama plzzz.” The third user said, “Anupama ka bura time shuru hogya ab.” In the picture, Smriti is dressed in a magenta-coloured saree with golden and silver embroidery. The drape of the saree is as same as early 2000s. Tulsi became a household name and the show ran successfully for decades. Smriti’s look from the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi reboot made fans emotional.
Smriti even released an official statement on her return and wrote, “Some journeys come full circle—not for nostalgia, but for purpose. Returning to Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is not just a step back into a role, but a return to a story that redefined Indian television and reshaped my own life. It gave me more than commercial success—it gave me a connection with millions of homes, a place in the emotional fabric of a generation.”
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi started airing in 2000 and the last episode was aired in 2008.
