Alia Bhatt’s former PA has been arrested on charges of allegedly embezzling Rs 76,90,892 from her production house and her personal accounts.

Such is the impact of her acting prowess that she enjoys a massive fan base and continues to win several hearts with her impeccable performances. The actress is back in news but not for the reason she’d have ever expected to. According to the latest media reports, Juhu Police have arrested her former personal assistant Vedika Prakash Shetty. Vedica has been accused of allegedly stealing money from Alia’s production house – Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd, and from her personal accounts too.

Going by the report published by Mumbai Mirror, Vedika had fraudulently gotten over Rs 76 lakh from the accounts of Alia Bhatt and her production house. The investigation is underway and more details will be shared soon. Reading this case, neither Alia nor her team has issued any statement so far. Earlier in January, Alia’s mother Soni Razdan and a director at Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd had filed a complaint against Vedika with the Juhu police. A case was also registered under Sections 316(4) (criminal breach of trust) and 318(4) (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

According to cops, Vedika Prakash Shetty, a resident of NG Cooperative Housing Society Road, Marol, had defrauded both Alia and her company. According to reports, she was given financial responsibilities, which she had allegedly misused.

For the unversed, Vedika Prakash Shetty was working with Alia Bhatt until 2024. “The accused would inform Alia Bhatt that the invoices were for various expenses incurred during the actor’s travels, get-togethers and meetings,” a police officer had said in his statement on the issue.
