Amitabh Bachchan – who has been winning hearts with his flawless performance as KBC host – has now shut down all previous rumours of being replaced by Salman Khan. A few months back, a few media report had suggested that Salman Khan was in talks to host the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). It was also reported that Amitabh Bachchan was planning to step down from hosting due to personal reasons. For the unversed, Amitabh Bachchan had been the face of KBC since its beginning in 2000.
What did Amitabh Bachchan post on Tumblr blog?
Amitabh Bachchan took to his official Tumblr blog to drop a string of photos from the set of his popular reality game show. The veteran actor confirmed that he had started the production of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17. While sharing the photos, the veteran actor wrote in his blog, “Shuru kar diya kaam (have started the production).” He further mentioned, “…and the prep begins the beguine…”, and added a laughing emoji.

Amitabh Bachchan also took to his blog to mention that he was back to the people and happy to be with them in their aim to improve both life and livings. He was elated to be back with the opportunity that can transform lives in an hour. The actor concluded his post by adding, “my love and regard, Amitabh Bachchan.”
When will Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 go on air?
On April 4, Sony TV had reportedly announced Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 with a promo video featuring Amitabh Bachchan. In the video clip, Amitabh essayed the role of a patient with a stomachache as he teased the show’s return. He also informed viewers that registrations for KBC 17 had begun. He urged viewers to register through the Sony LIV app, SMS, or IVR calls. The show is likely to premiere in August.
