Payal Rohatgi, who recently made headlines for her divorce rumours, has again been criticised for mocking actress-model Shefali Jariwala‘s death. Shefali died on June 27, and upon investigation, anti-ageing medicines, skin-enhancing tablets, and vitamin supplements were found in her apartment. This has sparked a debate on social media about the cause of the actress’s death. However, many reports suggest that she might have died due to cardiac arrest. Amid Shefali Jariwala’s death, Payal Rohatgi interacted with a journalist on WhatsApp and took a dig at Shefali’s death.

Who texted Payal?

The conversation started when a journalist texted Payal and asked about her divorce rumours with her husband, Sangram Singh. However, the conversation did not go well, and I pointed out Payal’s mental health issues and even made fun of her. The journalist texted Payal, ‘Hey Payal, good morning! I hope you’re doing well. There have been some reports going around suggesting that things might not be okay between you and Sangram, and that you both might be heading for a divorce. Is there any truth to these rumours? Just wanted to check with you.’

What did Payal reply to the Journalist?

To this, Payal replied that the journalist is suffering from depression and advised not to do drugs, and overdosing might kill. Upon seeing Payal’s reply, the journalist replied, ‘I’m not writing…I read on other websites hence reached out to you.’ But, contrary, Payal’s said that anti-ageing medications that medication that you buy your own might kill you. Interestingly, Payal did not mention Shefali’s name in the message, but many netizens were sure that her answer was based on Shefali’s death. On July 9, Payal shared a screenshot of the chat on her Instagram story.

The screenshot went viral on Reddit, and many users slammed Payal for her insensitive message to the journalist,t and one of the users wrote, ‘Ummm? That’s literally the job of a journalist. She is an entertainment journalist. Also, just FYI, she asked. She didn’t report. She is getting the facts correct. I don’t think that should be an issue.’ Another added, ‘This is absolutely disgusting. If you can’t handle questions, then stop putting your life out for public consumption. And the worst part? She’s clearly making a vile insinuation about how Shefali Jariwala died. That’s not just despicable, it’s cruel, and shameful.’
