Kajol recalled an incident where she couldn’t stop laughing after seeing Shilpa Shetty’s feet during a scene in Baazigar.
Shah Rukh Khan’s breakthrough film Baazigar was released in 1993. It was directed by Abbas–Mustan and produced by Venus Movies. The film stars Shilpa Shetty and Kajol. Baazigar was Shilpa Shetty’s debut movie, which made her a name for herself in the industry. The film became a blockbuster, and it became the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of the year. Baazigar was made with a budget of Rs 3 crore, and it went on to earn an estimated Rs 32 crore, which was a massive earning during that time. Recently, Kajol opened up about how while shooting Baazigar, she couldn’t stop laughing, looking at Shilpa’s feet for a particular scene.

During an interview with The Lallantop, Kajol revealed that she and Shilpa were shooting a scene where the latter’s character just died, and she could not stop laughing. The actress shared that she looked at Shilpa’s feet and wondered to herself who puts on such nail paint while dying, and couldn’t stop laughing, thinking about it.
Why did Kajol laugh after seeing Shilpa’s feet?
Kajol recalled and said, ‘Bechari Shilpa ke saath hua. It was the dead body sequence, and for some reason, I just couldn’t stop laughing at her feet. I looked at them and thought, ‘Who applies this much nail polish while dying?’ I was laughing uncontrollably just looking at her feet.’
What did the director say to Kajol?
During the shot, Kajol kept laughing and the director initially reminded her to focus on the emotional moment, but when she continued to giggle, he took a firmer tone and told her that if she were her sister, then would she still laugh. That particular statement made her stop laughing.
