Maalik box office collection day 1 prediction: Rajkummar Rao’s new film struggles to match past succ…
The most awaited film of Rajkummar Rao Maalik made it to the theatres on July 11. The advance booking started a day and a half before its release.
Rajkummar Rao’s film Maalik has been released on July 11. The film is directed by Pulkit and produced by Kumar Taurani and Jay Shewakramani. It stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role, alongside Prosenjit Chatterjee and Manushi Chhillar. With Rajkummar’s new role, the film is the most talked-about film of the actor this year. Fans are impressed by the film, and as per X, formerly Twitter review, the film is getting good reviews and many praise Rajkummar Rao for his role. With its new take on the film, the film is expected to make a strong opening at the box office.
When did the advance booking start?
Maalik’s advance bookings started from Wednesday afternoon, a day and a half before its release. By Thursday evening, the film had sold only 6,500 tickets across major chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, which is a low figure. Despite some ticket sell may increase overnight, the advance booking remainsed minimal and its not wshow a good picture for the Rajkummar Rao film. The dismal numbers raise concerns about the film’s prospects.
How much is Maalik expected to earn on its opening day?
Due to the low advance booking, Maalik will not get the box office hit that Rajkummar Rao expected. According to trade insiders, the film is expected to earn Rs 3-4 crore on its opening day. However, these are optimistic estimates. With an estimated Rs 2 crore haul on its opening day, the film is nowhere close to the last mid-budget mass action film, Sunny Deol’s Jaat, which earned Rs 9 crore on the opening day. Bhool Chuk Maaf, the previous film of Rajkummar, opened at Rs 7.2 crore. Maalik may not even hit half of either film at the box office on its opening day.
Despite its opening day collection, people are praising Rajkummar Rao for his new role. Maalik was made with a budget of Rs 54 crores. With a sluggish start and the weekend approaching, the film will now have to rely heavily on word-of-mouth and audience reviews to make it a box office hit.
