Arjit Taneja and Riya Sharma starrer Jhanak 2 is in the news. There have been rumours that the show is going off-air due to low TRPs. Now, actor Anupam Bhattacharya has reacted to this.
Jhanak has been one of the top TV shows. It has been getting all the love for its interesting storyline. However, we saw that recently, the show took a generation leap. Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja played the lead roles before. However, now, we have Arjit Taneja and Riya Sharma as the lead couple. They play Jhanak and Rishi in the TV serial. Their jodi has been loved by the audience and the show has been doing well too. However, it is not able to get the TRPs that it had earlier. The show is not amongst the top five on the TRP charts. Hence, a few days ago, it was being reported that the show is doing off-air due to low TRPs.
Recently, Arjit and Riya have said that they did not get any such news yet and the show is not going off-air. Now, Anupam Bhattacharya, who is seen as Shashwat, husband of Ishani (portrayed by Megha Chakraborty) has reacted to these rumours.
Is Jhanak 2 going off-air?
He spoke to BollywoodLife and said, “No such thing is happening as of now. See the show was scheduled to take a leap and once the show takes a leaf, there is bound to be a little drop in the in the ratings, but it’s just been one or two weeks before it has actually taken a leap and we have to see it going forward, but so far I think it is a very strong storyline of Jhanak. I think it should do well.” This is a big story in entertainment news and TV news.
Anupam Bhattacharya on his role
He further spoke about what made him say yes to Jhanak. He said, “I’ve actually been part of all mediums, but you initially I was predominantly doing television, but you know that quest for a good role because it dries up in television very quickly, after a few shows so that led me to staying away from television for sometime and focus more on OTT, films and advertisements. So I have been part of all mediums. Television, I have always thought was a huge market and it has a very good reach. People recognise you and your work. So, I had always kept my options on television but I very choosy about work.”
“I would like to do roles which can drive a story and because television offers a lot of characters where you’re just standing doing nothing you know the format of television now is following the lead actor, which is mostly women right. So other than that you have to pick and choose rose, which can drive the story along with the lead. So Jhanak when it was offered to me, it was like one that show. I am playing a character of Shashwat Sengupta, he is a business man. He’s a widow and he’s got two children and he needed someone to take care of them and take care of his household. So he gets married to the lead of the show Ishani in Jhanak. There are basically there are two leads. There is one the tools parallel story running in Jhanak, actually very interesting format, whether they’re actually running two stories in under one banner. So we were part of the other story where Ishani is the lead and I get married to her. Like I said that I basically married to her because I need her to take care of my children and take care of my household. However, Shashwat thinks Ishani as an inferior human in terms of that, he thinks that you know she’s meant to do these household things and tak care of the children and nothing more. This thing about their relationship and how resilient is Ishani, you know to prove otherwise, so that forms a interesting piece of the story. So that’s why I thought it had a good personality traits and that’s why I took it up, “he added.
