Smriti Irani shuts down rumours of quitting politics
In an interaction, when a social media user tweeted on X, “Dear @smritiirani all the best on your return to TV. Hope this is just a brief sabbatical from politics.” The actors quickly said, “No sabbatical. Have worked both in media and politics for 25 years with only a decade break due to my responsibility as Cabinet Minister. Never compromised on my sangathan responsibilities, never will.”

Actress and politician Smriti is all set to spill magic with her role of Tulsi Virani in the reboot of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2011. She has been a member of the Indian parliament from 2011 to 2024 and also served in the Rajya Sabha from Gujarat from 2011 to 2019 and in 2019 she served as a member of the Lok Sabha from the Amethi constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi will star Smriti and Amar Upadhyay who will return as Mihir in the show. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 will premiere on July 29 at 10:30 PM and stream on JioCinema.
