Renowned paranormal investigator Dan Rivera was found dead in a hotel room. He died on July 13 at the age of 54. Dan was a senior lead investigator for the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR). The paranormal investigator was part of the ‘Devils on the Run’ tour, which showcases the world-renowned Annabelle doll, which has been making headlines about the possessed spirit in the doll. After months on the road, Dan’s death on the tour has put more fuel to the rumours around the doll once again.
What happened on the night of July 13?
As per Adams County call records, an emergency 911 call was made on the night of July 13, 2025. Upon receiving the call, the crew responded to a Gettysburg hotel, where immediate CPR was administered on a male of Dan Rivera’s age. On the very next day, the organisation confirmed that the person who passed away was none other than Dan Rivera, which was posted on Facebook.
What did the post read?
The post read as, ‘We are heartbroken and still processing this loss. Dan truly believed in sharing his experiences and educating people on the paranormal. His kindness and passion touched everyone who knew him. Thank you for your support and kind thoughts during this difficult time.’
What was the cause of Dan’s death?
However, the cause of Dan’s death has not been known. But, many believed that his death was linked to the haunted doll, Annabelle. Dan’s sudden passing has created a buzz around the doll about the possessed spirit. Despite this, there is no proof that the death of the paranormal investigator and the doll have anything to do. However, speculation will rise until the cause of death is known.
The paranormal community has shown tribute to the departed soul. As per NESPR’s website, Dan Rivera has been working on paranormal research and investigation for over a decade and also worked as a consulting producer on the Netflix show, 28 Days Haunted, as per IMDb.
