Baksho Bondi: Shadowbox, starring Tillotama Shome and produced by Shome and Jim Sarbh, makes its Australian premiere. The film is considered the Opening Night Film in the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025. Earlier, the film had showcased his authority on the subject with its powerful storyline and performances at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival. The Bengali film marks the debut of Tanushree Das and Saumyananda Sahi as co-directors. Baksho Bondi was released on February 16, 2025, with a runtime of 1 hour and 33 minutes. It features Tillotama Shome in the role of Maya, Chandan Bisht as Sundar, Sayan Karmakar portrayed Debu, and Suman Saha as Ripon. The film highlights the powerful narrative of love, resilience, the strength of a working woman, and the struggles they goes through in their everyday life.

Talking about the experience and film journey, Tillotama Shome said, “Baksho Bondi is incredibly close to my heart. Playing Maya was a lesson in listening to silences, in discovering strength in small acts, and in understanding how quiet resilience shapes women’s lives in a world that often overlooks them.” She further said that after Berlin, taking Maya’s story to Melbourne, Australia, gives a special feeling.
