War 2 has been making headlines for multiple reasons. The action-packed sequel – which features Jr NTR, Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani – has been coming across as one of Bollywood’s biggest releases of 2025. For the unversed, the film has been directed by Ayan Mukerji, and will be released on August 14, 2025. Interestingly, the makers have finally confirmed that the much-anticipated trailer will be released on July 25, and be available in three languages including Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. War 2 makers took to their social media handles to announce the news. While revealing the release date, they posted, “ANNOUNCEMENT?: #WAR2 trailer out on July 25th. #War2 is set to release in Hindi, Telugu & Tamil on August 14th in cinemas worldwide! @iHrithik @tarak9999|@advani_kiara | #AyanMukerji | #YRFSpyUniverse.”
Why did War 2 makers choose THIS release date?
War 2 makers had unveiled the official poster of the film and revealed why they decided to choose the date. “In 2025, 2 icons of Indian cinema complete 25 years of their glorious cinematic journey. To celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime moment, YRK marks July 25 as the trailer launch date of War 2. Here’s to the most epic clash of the titans. Mark your calendar.”

War 2 – which has been directed by Ayan Mukerji – is his debut in YRF Spy Universe. The movie also marks his first collaboration with Yash Raj Films. War 2 teaser, which was unveiled a few weeks back, and garnered massive popularity and appreciation. Reason? The intense battle between Hrithik and Jr NTR – who share the screen space. As mentioned in reports, War 2 will be released on over 7,500 screens globally. Its IMAX run will last for three weeks. Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments has acquired Telugu distribution rights for War 2 by paying Rs 80 crore. As the next chapter in the YRF Spy Universe kick off, War 2 is emerging as one of the biggest theatrical events of this year.
