What happens to Ju-Yeong at the end of popular K-drama series?

What is the show Good Boy about?

Good Boy is a Korean drama about a team of Olympic medalists who joined the special task force (Avenger style). They were supposed to take on simple cases but landed in the middle of a case that shook all of Korea. Trouble and chaos erupted as the team continued to reach the end of the problem. The whole 16-episode journey followed a cat-and-mouse quarrel between the team and the villain, giving us some amazing action pieces, bonds, and camaraderie we’re not complaining about. Now it’s a wrap, so let’s talk about it.

The show stars prominent actors: Park Bo‑gum, Kim So‑hyun, Oh Jung‑se, Lee Sang‑yi, Heo Sung‑tae, and Tae Won‑seok.

What happened to the explosives?

As shown in episode 15, Ju-yeong (the villain) had a lot of chemical explosives and absolutely nothing to lose. So in the final episode, he set off different blasts with the help of cargo trucks to terrorize and ruin Insung City. His final target was the shareholder meeting at Victory Hotel. Our heroes tried their best to find him and stop the chaos with the help of an unreliable inside source, Yeon-ha, but their only hope was to learn the plan in time and stop the final attack. However, they couldn’t stop the other blasts across the city that caused chaos and terror in Insung City.

What happened to Ju-yeong at the end?

As Ju-yeong tries to flee the country by getting onto a boat, he is attacked by the Yakuza. They are trying to kill him when Dong-ju and Jong-hyeon arrive. Desperate to arrest Ju-yeong and have him face trial, they are put in the situation of having to protect him. Though he slips away in the chaos, Dong-ju eventually catches up with him on the rooftop.

“What kind of life have you lived that you kill someone like it’s nothing?” Dong-ju asks Ju-yeong. By the end, Ju-yeong mentions his dead parents to gain some sympathy, but Dong-ju wasn’t having it; he was an orphan himself. “A scumbag like you doesn’t get to make excuses,” he said.

What happened to Ju-yeong at the end?

Ju-yeong manages to throw himself over the edge of the boat into the water, accepting death rather than letting Dong-ju win, but Dong-ju is determined and follows him into the water.

What happened to Ju-yeong at the end?

Finally, arresting him, he drags him back to the shore where the rest of the team waits. While imprisoned, Ju-yeong arrogantly tells Dong-ju that “the system never really changes.”

Later that night, a mysterious guard enters his cell and strangles him to death, simply implying that someone settled their scores with him, not revealing who or why. It left the audience and the team with a simple realization, catching one Ju-yeong is not enough; there will always be another one in the shadows.

What happened to Dong-ju’s injuries?

He survived, yes, celebrate it, because of the fear that kept gnawing on all of us as we watched him fight. He didn’t lose his eyesight, and after the case shut down, he got promoted. He finally revealed his injuries to Han-na and joined a rehab program to get treated. He enjoyed a healthy and good relationship with Han-na. Basically, our boy finally got a break.

What happened to other team members?

They all finally got the closure they needed. Han-na got promoted and continued her service. Jong-hyeon returned to fencing and started leading a normal life. Ko Man-sik learned that his wife never cheated and is pregnant because his vasectomy failed.

Will there be a second season?

Nothing’s confirmed yet; the series was created as a standalone 16-episode show, and all the character arcs are thoroughly explored and ended. There’s not much to follow up on in a new season, but if they do decide to make one, no one’s complaining.
