The Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” is finally making its way to theaters after years of speculations and numerous postponements, and fans everywhere are ecstatic. With an all-star cast and a strong creative team, the movie is expected to provide a dramatic and intensely personal account of the King of Pop’s remarkable life and legacy. According to Variety, the Michael Jackson biopic Michael will eventually be released in theatres around the world on April 24, 2026, instead of October as originally scheduled. In the biopic, which is written by John Logan and directed by Antoine Fuqua, the late singer’s nephew Jaafar Jackson will assume the role of the King of Pop. Graham King, who won an Oscar for “The Departed,” is producing the movie.

Michael will take audiences through

The official synopsis states that Michael will provide viewers with “an intimate look at the life and enduring legacy of one of the most influential, trailblazing artists the world has ever known” as it follows the legendary artist’s ascent to worldwide fame.

A stellar ensemble of cast

A fantastic cast has been selected for the biopic to depict the individuals who influenced Michael Jackson’s life and career. His parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson, will be portrayed by Colman Domingo and Nia Long, while Miles Teller will play Jackson’s longtime adviser and lawyer, John Branca. The renowned Motown Records founder Berry Gordy is replaced by Larenz Tate. Laura Harrier portrays Suzanne de Passe, a music executive, while Kat Graham will play Diana Ross.

Also, Kevin Shinick plays TV host Dick Clark, KeiLyn Durrel Jones plays Jackson’s trusted security chief Bill Bray, Liv Symone as soul icon Gladys Knight, Jessica Sula as Michael’s sister La Toya Jackson, and Kendrick Sampson as music producer Quincy Jones, who first met Michael when he was just twelve.

Michael, which will be released in April 2026, is expected to be a moving and impactful homage to a pop icon who permanently altered the musical landscape.
