Indian Blind vs Korean Blind (JioCinema)
Blind is a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name. Starring Sonam Kapoor Ahuja as Gia, a blind ex-cop, and Purab Kohli as a serial killer, the film revolves around Gia’s journey as she tries to capture the killer with the help of Officer Prithvi. This crime thriller marked Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s OTT debut.
Kaise Yeh Yaariyan inspired by Boys Over Flowers (JioCinema)
Yes, Manan and Fab 5 fans, your favorite show is a remake of the super-popular Korean show Boys Over Flowers. Much like Boys Over Flowers, KYY also managed to garner a cult following over time, leading to the making of four seasons. KYY was one of the first young adult shows that aired on MTV and followed the love story of Manik and Nandini amid college, friendship, past experiences, and society.
Dhamaka inspired by The Terror Live (Netflix)
Dhamaka, starring Kartik Aaryan and Mrunal Thakur, is an official remake of the Korean movie The Terror Live. The story centers around Arjun Pathak, a demoted news anchor who sees a mysterious phone call from a bomber as an opportunity to reclaim his lost glory. As the bomber threatens to blow up the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Arjun must decide between his career and saving lives.
Ek Villain Inspired by the 2010 Korean film I Saw The Devil ( Disney+ Hotstar)
Ek Villain tells the story of Guru, a gangster who decides to change his ways after falling in love with Aisha. When Aisha is murdered by a serial killer, Guru embarks on a quest for revenge. The film explores themes of love, redemption, and the fine line between good and evil. It was widely loved when it was released earlier and still holds that special place in viewers’ hearts.
Khani Humari Dil Dosti Deewanepan Ki inspired by The Heirs
This Indian adaptation draws inspiration from the Korean series The Heirs, which revolves around the lives of wealthy high school students dealing with love and friendship issues. The Indian version captures similar themes of romance and social hierarchy, it aired on tv and managed to capture the audience’s hearts perfectly.
Barfi inspired by Lover’s Concerto
While Barfi is an original film, it draws thematic inspiration from the Korean drama Lover’s Concerto. The story revolves around a deaf and mute boy, his relationships, and the complexities of love and life. The movie is still Priyank Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor’s finest performances and holds a very special place in every fan’s heart.
