Actor Avinash Tiwary slammed Pakistani celebrity artist Rao Ali Khan for fat-shaming him on Instagram. It all started after Rao commented on his physique in shows like Khakhee: The Bihar Chapter and Bambai Meri Jaan.
Avinash Tiwary fired back at Pakistani writer and celebrity stylist Rao Ali Khan after he made comments about Tiwary’s physique in the popular web series Khakhee: The Bihar Chapter and Bambai Meri Jaan on his Instagram. The controversy started after Rao took to his social media and made fat-shaming comments on Tiwary’s photos. He commented, “Loved Bombay Meri Jaan. Was thinking why do you have belly fat in Khakhee and Bombay Meri Jaan both. Happy to see fitter body – super super.” In a separate comment, he added, “Loved Bombay Meri Jaan but pls loose weight and look fit.” The remark didn’t go unnoticed. The Khakhee actor shut down Rao with a polite reply that won the hearts of fans on social media.

Tiwary responded sharply to Rao’s comment, but in a respectful manner that is winning hearts. He wrote, “Sir, you are a journalist… if you had done any research you would know it was for the part… I suggest get beyond the idea of just vanity for cinema. Thank you.” The decency and respectful manner of the reply is going viral on social media. He further added, “On this journey, I decided to gain weight, grow hair, no vanity, no grooming to ensure that he (his character) never appeared desirable (so much for glorifying and making a hero outta a true ‘G’).” Netizens called out Rao for his shallow beauty standards.
