After several Malayalam news outlets published erroneous reports attributed to actor, filmmaker, and producer Prithviraj Sukumaran on the third installment of the Lucifer franchise, his official team has made a strong clarification. The Prithviraj Official Network (POFFACTIO) released an official statement in which the team indicated how deeply disappointed they were by what they described as “entirely untrue” reports that were making the rounds. According to a recent rumour, fierce underwater action scenes would be included in the third installment of the franchise, L3: Azrael. Now, the actor’s official team has intervened to end the rumours.

Taking to X (formerly called Twitter), Prithviraj’s official team, POFFACTIO (Prithviraj Official Network), refuted the viral reports, calling them “completely false” and “entirely untrue.” The statement reads, “We express our disappointment in major channels for spreading false news claiming that Prithviraj Sukumaran made statements about the L3 movie. These reports are entirely untrue.”

POFFACTIO also noted that the fabricated allegations seem to have come from a phony social media account, labeling it as part of a “hate campaign” directed at the actor. It further added, “We urge all media outlets to refer to the official interview videos from the Sarzameen promotions for accurate information. It appears this misinformation originated from a fake profile ID as part of a hate campaign. We request all channels to cross-check facts before reporting and to republish corrected news to clarify the truth to the public and Prithviraj’s well-wishers. We expect a professional approach in handling this matter. Thank you.”

L3: Azrael set to wrap up Lucifer trilogy

Lucifer was the first film in the Lucifer franchise, which was directed by Prithviraj and starred Mohanlal. Fans responded favourably to the highly anticipated sequel, L2: Empuraan, which was released earlier this year. L3: Azrael is intended to be the final installment of the political-action trilogy, although no specifics about the plot or filming timeline have been officially published.
