As per Ekta Kapoor, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 is a finite series, with 10–20 episodes and will focus on the emotional core rather than TRP. Apart from Smriti and Amar, Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan will play the roles of Karan Virani and Nandini.

The show will air its first episode on July 29 at 10:30 PM IST on Star Plus and will also stream on JioCinema and Jio Hotstar. Ekta Kapoor in the teaser said, “This time, we’re not chasing ratings. We want to spark conversations. As per reports, Smriti once earned Rs 1,800 per episode and will now reportedly earn Rs 14 lakh per episode. This makes her the highest-paid actor in Indian television history. She served as a Member of Parliament and Union Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime.

Nothing much is known about the story as of now. As per the promos, Tulsi returned to Shantiniketan after years of absence. There will surely be a generational clash between old morals and values and new-age ideologies. In the promo, Tulsi was seen watering the Holy Tulsi plant, which showcased her spirituality.
Characters who will not be part of the show
Some beloved characters of the show will not return for the second season. Baa, played by Sudha Shivpuri has passed away, while Apara Mehta, who played Tulsi’s saas Savita not in the cast lineup. Akashdeep Saigal, who played the role of Tulsi’s son Ansh was killed by his mother.
