The actor said that, in contrast to the original, the new installment will be a limited series. Yes, you read that right! He said that while the buzz for the show is strong so far, it looks like a finite series. He said that, as per his knowledge, the show will run for a maximum of 10 months or a year. The Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actor spoke about the audience expectations for the new season and said that the core spirit of the show persists.
He said that the family values are intact, while Smriti is just as she was with the kids, and Mihir is unchanged too. In the first season of the show, Mihir had returned to India after finishing his MBA to join his father’s business. But in season two, Mihir will be portrayed as a prominent businessman who hardly has time for Tulsi and his family. Amar affirmed that his connection with Tulsi remains consistent.

Amar admitted he was in complete disbelief when the team at Balaji Telefilms reached out to him for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. He said that he thought Tanu was joking, because there had not been any buzz about Kyunki before she called. He said that she called him to lock his dates. He also said that his character is the same. He said that the track is different altogether with new kids roped in.
Apart from Amar and Smriti, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, Ketki Dave, and Kamalika Guha Thakurta. Makers have roped in new actors, including Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi, and Shagun Sharma to play key roles.
