I’ve never heard of golf shoes you just Slip-in until I saw a few commercials of regular shoes on t.v. and saw they were available for golf shoes. So, I thought are these Slip-ins comfortable and how do they perform when you’re swinging a driver as fast as you can, and below is my result.
I’m sure you have heard of this company (Skechers) as they offer many types of shoes and I can attest from a current owner of their walking and running shoes, they are excellent. First, I had my golf friend who helps Niche Golf out test a pair of the Skechers Slip-ins so I was able to get a great grasp on how something very unique, a slip-in golf shoe, would really perform.
The first show is the Skechers Slip-ins Go Golf Prestige golf shoe which my friend was testing. The first thing is notice is what a great looking golf shoe it is; it has a traditional look to it and 7 soft spikes on the bottom placed strategically so you get the maximum traction. My golf friend has worn the Skechers Go Golf Prestige for a month, which equates to about 15 rounds of golf, wearing exclusively nothing but the Slip-in Go Golf Prestige golf shoes. He has said is now a huge fan of the shoes, and they are very comfortable and very supportive. He said the Go Golf Prestige Slip-ins, which he has never worn a slip-n golf shoe before, was a great feature in not having to bend over to put your golf shoes on and off. He added that the traction while wearing the golf shoes was top-notch and the cushioning was excellent. He was overall very, very satisfied and I’ve yet to see him wear any other golf shoes.
The next Slip-in from Skechers I was testing was their Go Golf Elite 5 Slip-in. I have never worn any slip-in shoes before, so I was excited to see how they perform. I noticed immediate a dial on each side of the shoes that let you adjust the fit, which I thought was a great feature. My experience with the Skechers Go Golf Elite 5 Slip-ins has been illuminating to say the least. I would have never guessed you could wear a golf shoe without shoestrings to tie it, so it fits securely. I can tell you that the Elite 5 allows you can adjust you the knob on each side to get it to fit your foot perfectly. In addition, to a great fit, it also secures your foot in the golf shoe, so it fits like a glove. The spikeless traction that Skechers uses in the Elite 5 was excellent with no slipping ever, and I did play with the Elite 5 golf shoes after a few raining days, and the golf course was very wet. Plus, the Elite 5 golf shoes were very comfortable, and the support was excellent from day 1.
I was also fortunate enough to try the Skechers Go Golf Elite Vortex – Rival golf shoe. The Go Golf Elite Vortex – Rival is you’re the traditional lace up golf shoe and is super comfortable. It has a great look and style to it and has 5 soft spikes that offer superior traction. The Elite Vortex-Rival are lightweight, and you can immediately tell when you put them on how supportive they are. The Skechers Go Golf Elite Vortex – Rival were very comfortable, and the traction was great. The arch support you could tell was truly amazing and my feet felt great after 18 and on a few occasions 36 holes of golf. I really like the Elite Vortex- Rival golf shoes and stability and traction was excellent.
Bottom line, Skechers has some amazing golf shoes. Whether you prefer a golf shoe with laces or a golf shoe you slip-in, Skechers has a golf shoe for everyone. All the shoes we tested were extremely comfortable, fit on all the golf shoes was top-notch, and the traction on all the golf shoes we tested over the past month was excellent. The advantages of the Slip-ins feature are huge, as I’m sure there are many golfers who would prefer not to have to bend over to put their shoes on and off.
