A legitimately shocking day for the Milwaukee Bucks. Damian Lillard waived to open up space for Myles Turner. Crazy crazy crazy

Largest waive and stretch in NBA history
Nearly triples the Nicolas Batum waiver by Charlotte years ago https://t.co/Vzavn55qxI

The Damian Lillard trade had risk and the worst-case scenario ended up happening.
They’re down Jrue, an unprotected first, two swaps, and now have to pay Lillard $22.5 million a year not to play for the next five years.

To answer what is sure to be a question:
Damian Lillard can’t return to the Bucks until the end of his original contract terms.
So, basically, Lillard will be elsewhere when he’s ready to play again.

Damian lillard came back and literally probably sacrificed his remaining peak years and ended up tearing his Achilles for a franchise that ended up waving him. No more loyalty talk

Joe Cronin – SIGN DAMIAN LILLARD to a contract and let that man rehab at home with his kids and his family!
Don’t miss this opportunity for all the karma points in the world. Bring our man home!
Veteran’s minimum, two years, player option year two. DO IT TODAY. Rip City needs this.

Damian Lillard has a great situation to look forward to. Recovering on his own timeline, taking the next calendar year to ensure he’s at full strength, gets all of his money that he earned on that contract, and has the opportunity to pick his destination next year. What a deal.

Don’t feel bad for Damian Lillard. This is a win-win. Dame had a player option for next summer that he was considering not exercising. No secret living away from family in Milwaukee was a challenge. So he gets his $ and is now an unrestricted free agent free to go where HE wants.
