Takomo Ignis D1 Driver 2025 (All-New 2nd Generation Reviewed)

The Takomo Ignis D1 driver has been relaunched with a second generation for 2025 offering more adjustability, improved forgiveness and a larger sweet spot.

Along with the Takomo irons, the original Ignis D1 driver launched in 2023 was well received as an affordable yet high-performing option off the tee.

Takomo have worked on improved the all-round performance of the D1 driver and the new 2025 second generation edition provides more forgiveness, better ball striking and more distance.

With three sole weight now part of a Modular Adjustable Weighting System, the Ignis D1 driver is also now more adjustable in terms of setup than the previous version.

Takomo have made some notable changes and upgrades from the original to the new Ignis D1 driver for 2025 with the intention to improve performance across the board.

The new 2025 D1 has a more compact head design but continues to feature a classic but confidence-inspiring shape that appeals to a wide range of golfers.

A new carbon fiber crown – once again with a a matte black carbon crown and sandblasted PVD finish – has been used to help lower the center of gravity and optimize spin and maintain higher ball speeds.

The D1 features a 25% larger sweet spot than the previous version to significantly improve forgiveness on off-center strikes and reduce dispersion off the tee.

The Variable Thickness Titanium Face also promotes more consistent ball speeds and solid performance even on mishits.

Takomo have introduced a new modular adjustable weighting system with the new Ignis D1 including three rear weight ports of interchangeable tungsten weights (3g, 3g, 13g).

One of the biggest design changes, it allows players to adjust the weights for draw, fade or maximum MOI (Moment of Inertia) for better forgiveness and control.

Like the original version, the Ignis D1 driver 2025 is available in 9 degrees and 10.5 degrees with up to two degrees of adjustability up and down.

The new Takomo Ignis D1 is designed to be far more adjustable, forgiving and visually refined than Takomo’s earlier model and the brand continues to deliver.

A new adjustable sole weight system, coupled with a larger sweet spot and refined clubhead mean the 2025 model is a better performer is virtually every aspect – most notably when it comes to forgiveness.

The R&D team at Takomo have come up with incremental gains, greater consistency and a driver that is much improved that the original version of the Ignis D1.

Once again it stands up favorably with established premium driver offerings and the price point makes it a winner for us.
