The TaylorMade R7 Quad Mini Driver launched in April 2025 as a modern reinterpretation of the iconic R7 Quad from 2004.
The latest iteration merges classic aesthetics of one of TaylorMade’s most popular drivers with contemporary technology to offer a blend of nostalgia and innovation.
Adding to the trend for mini drivers, the R7 Quad has a compact 304cc head and is design to be an alternative option between the driver and woods in the bag setup.
The new launch features TaylorMade’s Twist Face technology, which promotes straighter shots on off-center hits, and the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket for enhanced face flexibility to maintain ball speed on low-face strikes.
Originally launched in just an 11.5 loft, the mini driver has since expanded to also include 13.5 and 15.5 options to suit a wider range of golfers.
TaylorMade R7 Quad Mini Driver Specs & Design
The TaylorMade R7 Quad Mini Driver is a reimagined version of the groundbreaking R7 Quad from 2004 and follows the BRNR Mini Driver is the brands list of models.
Designed to blend classic styling with modern performance, it targets golfers seeking a compact, control-oriented driver without sacrificing distance.

The club features a 304cc head – significantly smaller than traditional modern drivers – to deliver greater control and a penetrating ball flight.
It features Twist Face Technology with the curvature correcting off-center hits by altering face angles in the high-toe and low-heel areas. The result is straighter ball flight, especially on common mishits.
TaylorMade’s Thru-Slot Speed Pocket is positioned behind the clubface and increases face flexibility on low-face strikes to deliver a higher launch and consistent distances.

The R7 Quad features an adjustable weight system for set up options with four sole weights that can be interchanged to create either a neutral or draw-biased trajectory.
The standard setup features two 4g back weights and 13g weights in both the toe and heel, but they can be swapped to alter the bias.

The R7 Quad was original available in only 11.5 degrees loft as standard and an adjustable hosel allows for four degrees of change (two degrees up and down).
However, TaylorMade have widened the appeal by also adding 13.5 degrees and 15.5 degrees lofts.
TaylorMade R7 Quad Mini Driver Review: Is it any good?
The R7 Quad Mini Driver is a thing of beauty first and a fusion of past and present with the icon returning after 20 years in a new sleek package.
The compact size makes it easier to shape shots, while the modern day technologies like Twist Face and the Speed Pocket add forgiveness to the equation by ensuring that even off-center strikes hold their line and distance.
Golfers will appreciate the tight dispersion, low-spin characteristics and forward CG that encourages a penetrating trajectory whether used from the tee box or fairways.
This new launch offers an excellent package of playability from both the tee and fairway and the sort of versatility not often found in modern drivers.
