Hello friends and welcome to this week’s edition of the Rogers Report! After two weeks on the road at the U.S. Open, Travelers Championship and KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, I am pleased to report that I will not be stepping foot on an airplane for the next 2 1/2 weeks. I’m also pleased to report that we’ve got an episode of The Scoop with Luke Clanton coming on Thursday!
I’m pumped for you all to see this one. I’d also like to take a moment to brag about the fact that after 26 years, my little sister has officially caught the golf bug. I’m so proud watching this all unfold in my inbox.
Some people asking how she’s gotten into it! Here’s what has happened:
– she moved to a new place
– got a golf-loving boyfriend
– started playing some par-3 courses
– I gave her a set of clubs (TaylorMade Kalea), some golf shoes and outfits
– she realized it’s supposed to be…— claire rogers (@kclairerogers) June 25, 2025
Alright, let’s get to it.
Greller at the U.S. Senior Open
Usually when we talk about a Greller, it has to do with the conversations that we overhear between Jordan Spieth and his caddie. That’s not the case this time, my friends. Tom Greller, the big brother of Jordan Spieth’s longtime caddie, is teeing it up in the U.S. Senior Open at the Broadmoor in Colorado this week.
Michael won’t be on the bag for Tom, but he will be in attendance to show his support. As far as working alongside siblings goes, this seems like the right call.
Tommy Fleetwood heartbreak
Tommy Fleetwood came this close to securing his first PGA Tour victory on Sunday at the Travelers Championship, but in the end it was hometown hero (technically, New England hero) and U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley who ended up getting it done. As excited as I am for Bradley, I still haven’t quite moved on from how bummed I am for Tommy Fleetwood. The whole scenario reminded me of a post-round interview he gave after the third round of the 2018 DP World Championship, where Fleetwood perfectly articulated his disappointment while acknowledging that he would be just fine in the long run.
“It’s one of those days. Tried really hard, couldn’t get the ball to go in the hole … at the end of the day, you live and breathe the game, don’t you? So there’s going to be good bits and bad bits … It is what it is, you know? I’m fine. Fit and healthy. I’ll play golf tomorrow. That’s it, I’ll go home and I’ll spend some time with my son tonight. At the end of the day, it’s just golf, but it does hurt when you have days like that.”
How can you not be a fan of Fleetwood when he’s got this sort of mindset? He enjoyed a sweet moment with his son, Frankie, after finishing his round on Sunday at TPC River Highlands.
And finally, we’ve got a video that truly pains me to share with you all but I think it sums up this game perfectly.
Tommy, if you’re reading this, we here at the Rogers Report support you and will celebrate your first PGA Tour victory whenever it happens.
The most wholesome part of Minjee Lee’s KPMG win
Minjee Lee won her third major championship on Sunday at PGA Frisco and my favorite part of the whole thing was the sweet sibling content we got out of it.
Not only did Minjee’s little brother, Min Woo, post about his sister while teeing it up at the Travelers, he congratulated her from the interview area as well.
There’s nothing like knowing there’s a sibling duo crushing it on the LPGA and PGA tours to keep you and your own siblings humble.
So that’s what I have for the best things from the KPMG (family edition). But it’s also worth noting something I learned about when I was on-site which we can call the KPMG analytics edition. There’s this new thing called the KPMG Performance Insights Program, which provided analytics on things like the projected cut line (including what every player needed to shoot in Round 2 in order to make the cut!), detailed looks at each hole at Fields Ranch East, the difficulty of each hole and more. I thought it was pretty cool. Anyway, you can read all about the insights here.
