Tour Championship 2025: Leading Betting Odds Favourites

The 2025 Tour Championship takes place at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, concluding the FedEx Cup Playoffs from August 21-24.

This event features the top 30 players from the FedEx Cup standings after last week’s BMW Championship, all vying for the coveted FedEx Cup title and a huge $25 million bonus purse.

The Tour Championship previously used a format of a head start for players based on their points standing position, but this year all players start from level par.

East Lake is a demanding par-70 layout known for its tight fairways, strategic risk-reward holes, and challenging greens, demanding precision and composure under pressure.

Unsurprisingly, world number of and recent BMW Championship winner Scottie Scheffler leads the betting odds for the 2025 Tour Championship as he bids to defend the title he won in 2024.

Tour Championship Leading Contenders

Scottie Scheffler

Scottie Scheffler enters the Tour Championship as the strong favorite, aiming to become the first player in history to successfully defend the FedEx Cup.

With five wins this season and top form demonstrated by two recent victories including last week’s BMW Championship, Scheffler’s consistency makes him the player to beat.

Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy comes in as the second favorite despite skipping the St Jude Championship to rest and then underwhelming at the BMW Championship.

A three-time FedEx Cup champion who loves East Lake, McIlroy has the power and skill to contend, but his current form appears less sharp due to limited recent play.

If he regains full rhythm quickly, he poses a genuine threat.

Tommy Fleetwood

Tommy Fleetwood is another strong contender at value odds, bringing steady ball-striking and a calm demeanor in playoffs.

His creative approach and ability to handle firm greens have served him well recently, and he looks poised for a deep run. But he is still chasing that elusive PGA Tour victory.

Ludvig Aberg

Ludvig Aberg arrives at the 2025 Tour Championship with building momentum, following a T7 finish at last week’s BMW Championship and a T9 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

He finished 16th in his Tour Championship debut in 2024, posting a score of 12-under, and aims to improve on that result at East Lake Golf Club.

If his putter stays hot, Aberg is seen as a legitimate contender to record his biggest PGA Tour victory to date.

Patrick Cantlay

Patrick Cantlay returns to East Lake with a reputation for handling pressure – and for past success at the venue.

The 2021 FedEx Cup champion finished T17 (-11) here last year and has a strong history with three top-10s in his last four appearances, including his win in 2021.

Cantlay’s recent form is solid and his proven track record at the Tour Championship make Cantlay a serious threat if he can rediscover his putting touch.
