Ludvig Åberg (adidas Golf)
After stealing the show at Augusta in adidas’ Originals Golf range, Ludvig came to Oakmont with the latest pieces in the collection. This is retro done right: bright blue trefoil logos and vintage tipping pop against the pale pink polo. It’s the kind of look that nods to golf’s heritage while winking at the streetwear crowd. Golf fashion is in the middle of a cultural shift. It’s a culture, a canvas, a conversation, and Originals Golf is a bold acknowledgment of how the game’s style rules are evolving. Too bad a missed cut has us wondering what else Ludvig had in the suitcase this week.
Min Woo Lee (Lululemon & FootJoy)
Last year, Chef Woozy’s partnership with Lululemon felt like a slow simmer. This year it’s a full boil. The dusty pastels hit that sweet spot between clean and colorful—cool enough for the course, vibey enough for post-round hangs. And let’s forget about Min Woo’s latest flex—a $90,000 De Bethune DB28 Starry Seas watch on his wrist.
Jason Day (Malbon Golf & Payntr)
Malbon keeps pushing boundaries, and J-Day’s showing us how it’s done. The fits are fire, but the kicks are straight-up collectibles. His Payntr Eighty Seven SCs are part of the new Clubhouse Collection. The U.S. Open edition comes complete with a translucent outsole that mirrors the carpet inside Oakmont’s clubhouse. Word is a Royal Portrush version is dropping for the Open. These are a must-cop.
Ben Griffin (Holderness & Bourne & FootJoy)
Ben isn’t loud. He doesn’t need to be. His game, and wardrobe, speak for themselves. Clean, classic, and country-club cool. Holderness & Bourne has the best-fitting polos and the best collars in the game. If you are looking for quiet luxury, this is it.
Bryson DeChambeau (Reebok)
This is the ‘Love It or Hate It Look of the Day,’ and I’m planting my flag in the ‘Love it’ camp. The shoulder stripes mix vintage varsity football energy with 2025 swagger. Bryson’s always been his own style science experiment, and this one’s working.
James Nicholas (Greyson Clothiers & FootJoy)
James was the Cinderella of the opening round, but if you’ve been watching his social media journey, none of this was a surprise. Dude’s been serving looks and leveling up his game for years. His Friday fit was a masterclass in subtle elevation. The crisp white and grey base had just the right splash of color through the pink Jones cap. Effortless, expressive, and entirely his own.
Thomas Detry (Boss & G/FORE)
Red, white, and blue often screams “Fourth of July BBQ dad,” but Detry gave us a tailored, Euro-sleek take that felt anything but cliché. The all-blue ensemble was icy, and the red glove provided just the right flash of color. Subtle patriotism with serious drip.
Viktor Hovland (J.Lindeberg & Nike)
Viktor is that beautiful chaos of a golfer who overthinks every shot and underthinks every outfit. Somehow it works. He’s a walking contradiction, and we’re here for the golf and fashion ride. The open placket and splayed collar are total vibes.
Adam Scott (Uniqlo & FootJoy)
This week I’ve received more DMs about Adam’s style than any other player. When he isn’t in safari mode, the clean lines and understated tones of his fits make him one of the best dressed in the game. But Uniqlo, we need a word. Why aren’t those blade collar polos he’s rockin’ available to us golfing mortals? On one of golf’s biggest stages, that’s a major miss. Scott gets the dime, but Uniqlo catches the crime.
Dustin Johnson (Extracurricular & Jordan)
DJ. The U.S. Open. Oakmont. A monochromatic fit. Matching Jordans. Everything seems right except for the +10 on the scoreboard.
Michael Kim (Dunning & FootJoy)
If you’re over the skinny pant era but not quite ready for pleats, Michael Kim is your middle ground. Dunning’s Player Fit pants offer a roomier cut with a pressed crease that adds a little texture and grown-man polish. I’ve added these to my rotation, and their new 8″ Players Shorts are officially my summer go-to. Style and function in perfect balance.
Fashion Crimes
Brian Harman
Credit where it’s due, Harman’s made progress with B. Draddy apparel. But we need a footwear intervention. Black shoes with light pants are too harsh and too heavy. A white shoe and light belt would’ve brightened everything up.
Scottie Scheffler
It isn’t horrible, it’s just so…boring.
Xander Schauffele
I’m undecided about the asymmetrical design, but I do know that the polo wants to be paired with black pants. This is a fall shirt trying to crash a summer pool party.
