Allied Pinnacle appoints first Head of Sustainability to lead ESG strategy and climate resilience

Anthony Ogilvie

Australia’s leading flour and bakery manufacturer, Allied Pinnacle, has appointed Anthony Ogilvie as its first Head of Sustainability, marking a significant step forward in the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy.

Ogilvie brings over a decade of experience in sustainability, environmental management, and ESG reporting, spanning the not-for-profit, government and corporate sectors, including work with Mission Australia, Goodman Fielder, Transurban, and ASX-listed companies such as McPherson’s.

The newly created role will be instrumental in formalising a future-focused, accountable sustainability strategy across Allied Pinnacle’s operations, customer and supplier network, and community partnerships.

Allied Pinnacle CEO David Pitt says Ogilvie is set to bring his practical and collaborative approach to the business.

“We’re proud to welcome Anthony to Allied Pinnacle and Champion. His expertise, values and global perspective align with our commitment to operating responsibly, engaging with our agricultural partners, and supporting a sustainable future for the food industry. We bake the future from flour and have done so for over 100 years, and this appointment will allow us to continue to do that – strengthening our ESG capability, ensuring long-term resilience in our operations, and driving us to be better every day. Anthony will also serve as the key link to stakeholders partnering with us on sustainability, formalising how we engage on all things ESG.” says Pitt.

Ogilvie says what drew him to Allied Pinnacle is the impressive talent at all stages of the recruitment pipeline and its commitment to sustainability beyond compliance.

“Our responsibility is not only to nourish Australians today, but to help ensure the resilience and sustainability of our food systems tomorrow. By working collaboratively with farmers, suppliers and our teams, we can act as one to build the foundations to manage climate risk and make a meaningful impact.”

As Head of Sustainability, Ogilvie will focus on integrating sustainability across the business from grain to table. The role will ensure the company meets its obligations as a Group 1 reporting entity, while also creating long-term shared value for customers, employees and communities.

Driven by a belief in local solutions, cross-cultural understanding, and the ripple effect of individual actions, Ogilvie took some time to travel the world from house-sitting in Honduras, teaching languages in Spain, farming in Italy, and waiting tables in Peru.
