Aneet Padda, the lead actress of the romantic drama Saiyaara, has been in the spotlight again, this time she opened up about her struggles with anxiety and depression. Read on to know more.
Saiyaara OTT release: Aneet Padda and Ahan Pandey surprised the audience with their film Saiyaara, made on a budget of about Rs 60 crore, grossed Rs 577 crore worldwide. After ruling the theaters for several weeks, the film is now available on the OTT platform Netflix. Amid the success of the film, Aneet also shared her experiences of struggling with mental health and anxiety.
What did Aneet Padda say about depression and anxiety before Saiyara?
In a conversation with Hollywood Reporter, Aneet talked about the success of the film and the struggles of her career. She said that she really enjoyed acting during the film Saiyaara. Aneet revealed that she had severe anxiety and depression three years before the film. She came to Delhi, but she was not sure whether she would be able to survive in the industry. She said, “I’ll be very honest; I started enjoying [acting] with this film. For three years before that, I just had terrible anxiety and depression, mostly because I had gone to Delhi to study, not fully being sure if I’d make it anywhere in the industry at all.”
What were Aneet Padda fears and doubts?
In an interview with Vogue, Aneet said that she always wants to prove herself. She said that she has fears and doubts in her mind, but her aim is to show that despite the fears and doubts, she can fulfill her dreams. She said, “Proving myself right, for sure. There’s always doubt in my head. All of us are confident, we know what we want, but we’re also overexposed and under pressure, even when we don’t need to be. I have so many expectations of myself. I want to prove that even with fear and doubt, I can still do it. Those things will always be there, but they’re no reason to stop.”

Aneet Padda started her career with Mohit Suri’s film Saiyaara. According to her LinkedIn profile, she studied at Jesus and Mary College and majored in Political Science and minored in English Literature. Apart from this, she is also a songwriter and singer and has previously worked as an HR intern at Vistara Airlines.
